Herbs like elm and marshmallow have great healing effects. Aloe Vera juice, licorice and natural honey have wonderful soothing effect on esophagus and also help in healing process. Taking dinner at least three hours before going to bed can wonderfully reduces the chances of acid reflux problem. Chewing gum between meals can also reduce the stomach acids and if you really want to have the pasta with tomato sauce, there is always baking soda as a last resort.
